Abound provides landscape design, consulting and installation services.  Our approach is rooted in perspective and expertise drawn from landscape architecture, horticulture, permaculture, organic agriculture and ecology.  We craft landscapes that enrich the well-being of individuals, community and habitat.

We achieve this by cultivating holistic qualities in the landscape, creating environments that are sustainable and harmonious.  This manifests in many ways, a few examples of which are, beauty, food, ecosystem health, contemplative space and medicine.

Our methodology can best be summed up by one word: Integration.  We consider all details and aspects of each project throughout the entire design and installation process. With this as our practice, we then seek to bring out the highest potential possible for each site.  Throughout this process we act as guides to ensure a level of understanding and participation commensurate to each client’s wishes. Abound’s unique approach generates a high level of sensitivity and attention to detail.  We only take on a select amount of work at any given time so we can provide focused consideration and responsiveness to each project.

The story of Abound Design began where Owen Wormser was born – deep in the North Woods of rural Maine. He grew up in a small town, surrounded by the profound presence of the natural world. This marked the beginning of his ever-deepening relationship with the earth and plants. Abound Design came about as a means for Owen to share that connection with others while also further cultivating it in himself. With this as his inspiration, Owen actively practices the skills and perspectives necessary to effectively weave people and the natural world back together.

Owen received a degree in landscape architecture in 1998 and went on to found Treefrog Landscapes. He practiced there until 2010, when he departed to launch Abound Design. Abound uses a unique process of integrated design that allows for strong attention to detail and responsiveness on each project, making it possible to offer nuanced work not commonly available. As an ongoing student of the landscape, Owen continues to be excited to share his vision and experience with clients seeking carefully designed and built landscapes.
